The President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa has send condolences to the victims of Granvia-Toyota Wish accident.

Twenty people were confirmed dead by the Zimbabwe Republic Police after a Toyota Granvia which was travelling from Masvingo veered onto the oncoming Toyota Wish’s lane which was coming from Zvishavane direction.

Three injured victims were taken to Zvishavane District Hospital while the bodies were taken to Masvingo Provincial Hospital.

According to a report by the Zimbabwe Republic Police, the toyota Granvia veered off its lane after it burst a tyre.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police further revealed that the vehicles had a head-on collision at the 61km peg along Masvingo – Mbalabala Road near Chitowa Business Centre, just after Mhandamabwe.

In a statement, the president expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and speedy recovery to the injured.

His excellency further urged motorists to avoid speeding and overloading in order to reduce accidents.

“I urge motor to avoid speeding and overloading in order to reduce undue accidents,” said the president in a statement.
