The President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa has sent a condolence message following the untimely death of Mrs Anne Anastasia Knuth.

Knuth died yesterday morning after she succumbed to complications arising from her battle with breast cancer at her home surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Mrs Knuth was a seasoned journalist, she began her career in the Civil Service as a Senior Information Officer in the then Ministry of Information, Posts and Telecommunications in the early 80s.

The late Mrs Knuth rose through the ranks to the position of Government Chief Public Relations with onerous tasks if branding the newly independent State of Zimbabwe.

“On behalf of government, my family and on my own behalf, I wish to express my deepest condolences to the Knuth and Chakanetsa families, especially to her children and grandchildren, who have lost a beloved mother and grand parent,” said the president in a statement.
