The Goromonzi Rural District Council demolished houses at Melfort today.

Some of the houses were complete and some were still at lower levels. Over 5000 stands are in the area and it’s not clear how many are affected.
The latest move by the council comes after the Harare city council destroyed illegal Structures at Zindoga and Parktown shopping centres few weeks back.
It also comes after the Harare city council demolished illegal Structures in Mbare.
Zimbabwean politician, Jacob Ngarivhume has heavily criticised the councillors that have approved the destruction of property belonging to informal traders.
He further criticized Nelson Chamisa for letting the city council destroy illegal Structures in Harare.
