Former ZANU PF minister and self exiled Professor Jonathan Moyo has revealed that Emmerson Mnangagwa fired Zanu PF political commissar Victor Matemadanda for being in the payroll of exCIO Minister Nicholas Goche; Mnangagwa’s real rival.

Posting on twitter, Moyo said the unstated reason for Matemadanda’s dismissal as both PC & Deputy Defence Minister is the claim that he is involved with Goche who ED blames for scuppering his bid to succeed Simon Muzenda as VP in 2004 and for losing key DCC polls in 2020.

“While many saw Joice Mujuru as his rival, Mnangagwa’s target was Goche; he got #MID to accuse Goche of hiring Israeli snipers to take out Pres Mugabe in 2014!

“Mnangagwa has been apoplectic with rage over the outcome of the recent ZanuPF DCC elections, which left him politically exposed; especially but not only in the key Goche-influenced Mashonaland provinces, whose vote is necessary to WIN or STEAL a presidential election in Zimbabwe!

The Standard reports that Mnangagwa fired Matemadanda over accusations that he was fanning factionalism and was becoming too ambitious.

Matemadanda was also accused of manipulating party structures to position himself ahead of the 2023 elections and for not respecting senior party deployees at the headquarters.

These include secretary for administration Obert Mpofu, secretary for finance Patrick Chinamasa, administration director Dickson Dzora and Zanu PF school of ideology director Munyaradzi Machacha.

“Matemadanda was working with some senior party members from the Midlands province,” said the senior party official, who requested to remain anonymous.

“These include Larry Mavima (Midlands Provincial Affairs minister), Daniel Mackenzie (Zanu PF provincial chairman for Midlands) and Zanu PF youth chairman for Midlands Edmore Samambwa, among others.
