Zimeye reports that former Finance Minister Ignatius Chombo has been arrested by the Special Anti Corruption Unit (SACU).

According to the publication, Chombo was arrested and charged with one count of fraud and 5 counts of criminal abuse of duty as a public officer.

In 2017 he was arrested for criminal abuse of office over the way he handled the Garikai/Hlalani Kuhle program in Whitecliff farm in Harare.

His arrest is believed to be in connection with the Uchena Land Commission report-a land commission led by Justice Tendai Uchena, that was established to investigate the various dealings involving urban land and land barons.
