Zimbabwe Acting Vice President and Minister of Health Retired Dr Constantino has announced the lockdown extension to 15 March.
In a video on social media Chiwenga said there’s a new strain of corona that is circulating which is more infectious.
“These strains are more transmissible “, he said.
He further added that thegovernment will soon be issuing out vaccines.
Adding on Chiwenga said the Lockdown imposed on 5 January has stabilized the situation in Zimbaabwe.
“The number of infections have been decreasing. Equally our recovery has gone up”, he said.
Zimbabwe has recorded a number of 14 084 cases and 369 deaths as of 28 January.
