Gambakwe media sources have revealed that jailed Zimbabwe Journalist, Hopewell Chin’ono, secretly met with Zimbabwe President, ED Mnangagwa, in 2018.
The meeting is reported to have happened at Mnangagwa’s office, soon after the 2018 harmonized elections.
Our sources revealed that Mnangagwa was not impressed with Hopewell as he came dressed casually in jeans and a T-shirt and Mnangagwa did not offer Hopewell any role in his new administration.
Chin’ono intended to work with ED Mnangagwa on his Public Relations work, after the 1st August shootings.
Instead, Mnangagwa decided not to give the PR contract to an American company.
Our sources say it was after that failure to connect that Chin’ono started his crusade against ED Mnangagwa.
The sources speculated that Chin’ono could have connected with Mnangagwa ‘s enemies in the G40 faction out of frustration as he felt that he would have done a good job in marketing ED Mnangagwa.
