Members of the Ama-Bhaca tribe in Mount Frere have gathered to stage a protest against Chief Thandisizwe Diko near his palace on claims that Diko is not representing them.

The Ama-Bhaca tribe members say that Chief Thandisizwe Diko is not representing their interests well enough and that he is not the legitimate king of the Ama- Bhaca Kingdom.

Some of the community members revealed that there is a Center for Social Development in Chief Thandisizwes residence that is not benefiting the community.

They said that there are also Tanks that were donated by the Nelson Mandela Foundation to the community however Chief Thandisizwe took them and the community has not benefited from that.

Chief Diko is currently embroiled in a scandal relating to the awarding of a 125-million-rand tender for personal protective equipment and the Ama-Bhaca tribe members are saying that this is a misrepresentation of their values.

The scandal has forced three senior Gauteng ANC members including Presidential spokesperson Khusela Diko to take a leave of absence.
