Tari, a Zimbabwean Blogger now based in Canada explains what you need to do in order to move to Canada as a permanent resident in.

The process is called the Canada Express Entry:

This process takes a lot of time and money.

First you need to decide if you really want  to go to Canada.

You need to do a lot of research on YouTube, Facebook,Twitter about Canada , so that you won’t need an agent to assist you.

The following steps are required of you to qualify for the Canada Express Entry;

1. ECA- Educational Credential Assessment ($165)

This process costs US$165, this process assesses your educational qualifications. In Zimbabwe you do it with the World Educational Services.It equates your qualifications to the Canadian qualifications, whether it equates to Masters, Degree or PHD in Canada.

2. Tests- English Tests ($295)

You are tested in reading, listening, writing and speaking. You need to practice to get more marks. In Zimbabwe you do it with the British Council Website and it costs US$265.They test your General English.

3. Create a profile on Canada.gov website

After the tests you create your profile with the Government of Canada and the invitation can take up to two weeks ( They do a draw every week).

After getting the invitation to apply that is when everything is needed e.g.your documents, police clearances, work reference letters, travel history; where you have stayed for the past 10 years, educational certificates.

Medicals

They will test you for HIV, Diabetes, Cancer, and then you submit your documents.

They want people who are healthy who will be productive.

Waiting Period

The waiting process was 6-8 months but now it’s 10 to 12 months because a lot of people are applying.

Proof of Funds

The proof of funds is also required so that when you are accepted you will have money to use while still trying to settle in.

French language is an added advantage.

Maximum points for age is given for people between the ages of 20 and 28 years.
