Former Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) governor Gideon Gono has denied claims by ZANUPF spokesperson Chris Mutsvangwa that gold reserves were Iost during his tenure.

This comes after Mutsvangwa said the country’s gold reserves were stolen as they were supposedly sold to Saudi Arabia without payment.

In a public statement, Gono said Mutsvangwa is peddling “blatant lies”.

He suggested a Commission of Inquiry and clarified a faiIed gold-backed transaction, asserting no gold was Iost under his watch.
