Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Development, Joshua Sacco say the train accident which claimed three National Railways of Zimbabwe crew members was a wake up call to the need to refurbish the railway lines.

The three died after a train they were in derailed between Mutare and Machipinda on Monday.

The locomotive, which was pulling 14 wagons laden with chrome concentrates suffered a brake failure and fell into a gorge after failing to negotiate a sharp turn around 2100hrs.
