The Justice Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi yesterday said the detention of the CCC senior member Job Sikhala is justified hence the government will not do anything about his continued incarceration.
He said Sikhala who has spent more than 600 days in remand prison, will continue to be in prison as the courts are independant and will operate without interference
Ziyambi Ziyambi says the courts will not release Sikhala on the basis that there is public pressure from the citizens or international community.
“When you go to the courts do not expect the outcome to be on your side, even our Chief Justice Luke Malaba addressed such matters in his speech while opening the 2024 legal year, cases are looked at both sides,” Ziyambi said.
