The Bulawayo community is in shock after a popular businessman, Mandlenkosi Dube ( Mandla), killed his side chick, Precious Dube, at a lodge in Bradfield on 24 December. Mandla then drove off at high speed and crashed his Mercedes Benz head-on into a bus, resulting in his own death.
According to children who were at the lodge, Mandla was seen strangling Precious outside the room of the lodge in Bradfield suburb. He was heard shouting to Precious to give him back money that he had spent on her.
The children then went to investigate after Mandla left and discovered that Precious had died.
After leaving the lodge, Mandla is said to have driven at high speed towards Beitbridge, with the intention of crossing into South Africa. It is suspected that he changed his mind after driving a few kms from Bulawayo and decided to crash his Mercedes Benz Vehicle head-on into an oncoming bus.
Mandla died at the scene and six passengers on the bus were injured.
Shocked friends and former classmates reacted to the murder suicide on Social Media and said he was a kind man and what he did was not expected.
His wife and family had not made a statement regarding the tragic events.
Mandla was the owner at Liquor supplies in Bulawayo.
