The British Embassy in Harare had released a statement on ongoing Zimbabwe elections.

They firstly applauded patience in many Zimbabweans in determination to exercise their rights by queuing for long hours outside polling stations.

As the electoral process is still underway, they echoed the preliminary findings of the IEOMs where pre-election and election day fallen short of international and regional standards.

They also condemned the arrest of electoral monitoring groups.

However they urged ZEC to deliver transparent counting and verification process.

The British Embassy also pleaded with the citizens to remain peaceful and calm.
