Hmetro reports that Sungura legend Alick Macheso has opened up about his sad childhood without his father.
Macheso’s father Hardson Maenela, deserted the family when his mother was only three months pregnant.
At the age of seven, his father returned and tried to kidnap him. He wanted to lure him with sweets while he was hiding in the maize field close to our compound.
Macheso said growing up without his father still haunts him.
The legend will celebrate his 55th birthday tomorrow at Tanza Centre in Chitungwiza.
