Convicted Facebook murderer, Thabo Bester, was involved in a movie like crossing into Zimbabwe after he escaped from a private South African prison with the help of 10 officials.
The Independent reports that Thabo Bester and his Zimbabwean smugglers exchanged gunfire with South African soldiers at Beitbridge before ditching the car they were traveling in and proceeding on foot into Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwean soldiers guarding the Beitbridge border have been accused of helping criminals escape into their country by the South African Home Affairs Minister, Aaron Motsoaledi.
The multi millionaire Bester faked his own death in prison on 3 May 2022 before walking out of prison dressed as a prison warden.
The newspaper said 10 Prison officials were each paid R500 000 by Bester over a number of months. Bester is dating celebrity doctor, Nandipha Mugundumana, with whom he is on the run.
Bester was convicted for the murder of Joburg model and car saleswoman, Nomfundo Tyulu, whom he met on Facebook.
Police found out that Bester had faked his own death after a number of whistle-blowers came forward and launched an investigation.
After things cooled down, Bester came back to South Africa and lived in the same affluent neighborhood with some of South Africa’s top politicians.
