Zambia President Hakainde Hichilema made a keynote address at the Mining Indaba Conference in Capetown, South Africa today.

During the address, Hakainde reaffirmed his position that now is time for Africa and Zambia to not only focus on producing raw materials but maximising on this potential and create opportunities for everyone.

He said Zambia is open for business opportunities, trade among others done within the confines of the laws hence ensuring a stable environment where one can invest.

He added that Zambia has put the issuance of mining rights on halt because of corruption which had hit the mining sector.

He said whe he Zambia starts the issuance of mining rights every citizen will have an opportunity to take part in this exercise which will lead to jobs and business opportunities.
