South African President Cyril Ramaphosa hosted Botswana President Mokgweetsi Masisi for the 5th Session of the Bi-National Commission of Cooperation (BNC) between the two countries.
 
The two Heads of State were accompanied by delegations of Ministers and Senior Government Officials of both countries.
 
Masisi, expressed deepest condolences to Ramaphosa and South Africans, following the widespread floods which hit Kwazulu Natal.
 
The two Heads of State agreed on their commitment to continue working closely in an effort to further strengthen and broaden their cooperation agenda.
 
40 Agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) have, over the years, been signed between the two countries, covering areas such as Immigration, Defence and Security, Energy, Trade, Transport, Science and Technology and Environment.

Masisi expressed his appreciation to Ramaphosa for the invitation and generous hospitality accorded to him and his delegation.

Botswana will host the Sixth Session of the Bi-National Commission (BNC) in 2023 on a date to be announced.
