Leader of Johane Marange apostolic sect St Noah Taguta Momberume, has died.

Noah believed to be in his 90s died in the afternoon around lunch.

Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Nokuthula Matsikenyere, confirmed the passing of Taguta.

“I have been informed by the Secretary for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Mr Edgars Seenza, that High Priest Noah Taguta is no more.

“The DDC (District Development Coordinator) Mutare advised that he died around lunch time,” said Minister Matsikenyere.

Taguta was President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s ally. The priest prophesied that Mnangagwa will win elections.

In 2018, President Mnangagwa visited Taguta’s shrine where he officially launched the construction of a states of the art sports centre and stadium at St Noah college in Bocha, Marange.
