Zimbabwean UFC professional Themba Gorimbo has raised over US$1000 to fund Taurai Zimunya who died last week after sustaining head injuries from his boxing match.

Gorimbo raised the money through the sale of kits and donations from fellow sportsmen.

The money has been sent to his family to fund Taurai’s family.

Zimunya was floored during the third round of six in a non-title professional match against Tinashe Majoni.

Zimunya received a series of harsh blows to the head. He tried unsuccessfully to defend himself but Tinashe continued to hit him with no interference by a judge until Zimunya finally stumbled and fell to the floor.
