Opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema visited Rupiah Banda, the former president of Zambia yesterday.

According to Hichilema, the two discussed wide range of issues regarding the people of Zambia.

“We have just held a closed door meeting with our Country’s Fourth President, His Excellency President Rupiah Bwezani Banda, at his residence in Lusaka.

We discussed a wide range of issues bordering on the welfare of our People. We remain committed to ensuring a united and developed Zambia for all.

May God Bless our Country,” he posted.

Hichilema visited Rupiah at a time when Zambians were eagerly waiting for election results.

However, according to Zambia’s Electoral Commission, Hakainde Hichilema has won the elections.

In the final results, Hichilema secured 2,810,777 votes while lungu was in second place with 1,814,201 votes, out of 7 million registered voters.
