President Emmerson Mnangagwa has congratulated Donata Katai for representing Zimbabwe at the olympics.

He issued a pleasing message to the team that will be representing Zimbabwe at the olympics.
He took to Twitter to wish the team well.

“17 years old and leading your country as one of the flag bearers at an Olympic Games.
“What an extraordinary achievement by an extraordinary young woman.
Donata – you have made me proud to be Zimbabwean! #Tokyo2020.” he wrote.

A 17-year-old girl is making history by becoming the first Black swimmer to represent Zimbabwe in the Olympics.

Donata Katai won gold medals in both the 50-meter and 100-meter backstroke in the 2019 African Junior Championships in Tunisia. In addition to taking gold medals, Katai also broke the youth records of two-time Olympic champion Kirsty Coventry on her way to the Olympics.
