The top 5 most expensive divorces in Zimbabwe have been revealed.

The then Local Government, Public Works and National Housing Minister Dr Ignatius Chombo divorced Marian Mhloyi.

Minister Chombo got a decree of divorce in 2012 and all the property was shared except for the farm, which Ms Mhloyi insisted should be split to accommodate both parties.

Ms Mhloyi was allocated the bulk of the confirmed matrimonial property, which includes six haulage trucks and trailers, an AVM bus, an 18-tonne truck, a tanker, four cars and eight immovable properties.

Minister Chombo got flats at Eastview Gardens in Harare, an immovable property in Norton, a stand in Kariba, and all the properties at Allan Grange Farm in Raffingora.

Flamboyant businessman and Zifa president Phillip Chiyangwa’s wife, Elizabeth (nee Jumah) officially divorced in 2018.

In her declaration filed with the court then, Elizabeth said she was demanding a lion’s share of the family’s $230 million estate.

she claimed 85% of the couple’s wealth and $83 000 per month for 120 months as maintenance after the termination of the marriage.

Vice President Constantino Chiwenga’s divorce with Jocelyn is also in the top 5 most expensive.

In 2012 Chiwenga filed for divorce citing Jocelyn’s alleged violent behaviour.

After they were divorced, Jocelyn was evicted from Dockson Farm in Goromonzi in September 2014 and in October the same year she was evicted from their Borrowdale Brooke mansion.
