The President of Economic Freedom Fighters Julius Selo Malema has broken his silence over the sentencing of his former mentor Jacob Zuma.

Malema says the sentencing of Msholozi is unconstitutional considering that Zuma is a law abiding citizen who has never been to jail before.

“We do not agree with the sentence, it is extremely out of order and it is emotional. We do not think that the sentencing actually speaks to the law. President Zuma is a first offender, he is a former statesman and he is 79 years old, above all he has no criminal record all of that should have been taken to consideration before sentencing him,” said Malema.

Malema further blamed Zondo for the current situation in South Africa as he refused to recuse himself.

The constitutional court sentenced Zuma to 15 months in prison few days ago.

The court further gave the former president a deadline to hand himself to the police however, the deadline has lapsed and Zuma is still at his home with his loved ones.
