Jacob Zuma is set to be escorted by his children to jail.

Jacob Zuma’s daughter, Dudu, has broken the family’s silence on the extraordinary developments witnessed at ConCourt after the former president was sentenced to a 15-month stretch in prison.

The former South African President, who has spent years dodging allegations of corruption and state capture, has finally been brought down a contempt of court order.

Justice Khampepe delivered a scathing verdict on Tuesday, lambasting Zuma’s ‘intolerable behaviour’. ConCourt decided to make an example of the Nkandla resident, handing down a direct imprisonment order.

However, his daughter says he ‘has no fear of prison’

“Just spoke to my father, he is in high spirits and has no fear. We have a choice between serving our time in Joburg or Nkandla. Of course, we’ve chosen to be close to home. Lockdown or no lockdown, we will escort you to serve your time,” she tweeted.

However, one group that does not seem so ready to accept Jacob Zuma’s fate is the MKMVA wing of the ANC.

The controversial collective of MK Vets has had members stationed at the 79-year-old’s homestead for the past few months.

The MKMVA President has previously threatened ‘civil unrest’ if Msholozi is sent to jail.
