Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has suspended the use of twitter in Nigeria.

The move by Buhari comes as a response to his ban by Twitter after he posted a tweet promoting violence.

Buhari had tweeted: “Many of those misbehaving are too young to be aware of the destruction and loss that occurred during the Nigerian civil war. Those of us in the fields for 30 months, who went through the war will treat them in the language they understand”

Twitter immediately deleted Buhari’s post citing that the post violated its abusive behavior policy.

The social media owners made it worse by suspending his Twitter account for a period of 12 hours.

Earlier this year, Yoweri Museveni the president of Uganda shut down the internet after Facebook accounts linked to his party were blocked.
