The much anticipated Bushiri extradition did not take place as expected as South African witnesses failed to appear before the Malawian Magistrate.

The Bushiri’s confidently appeared before the Malawi Magistrates court where they were expecting to finally face South African witnesses that are opposing the ongoing trial.

Prophet Shephered Bushiri claims that the South African witnesses came up with an excuse that is not convincing.

“To my disappointment we were told that the witnesses could not appear due to claims that there were no flights from South Africa to Malawi,” said Bushiri.

“Secondly, they enunciated that the witnesses failed to appear in the Malawi courts due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic,” added Bushiri.

However, the leader of Enlightened Christian Gathering dismissed the allegations arguing that the statement about flights is untrue as his lawyers from South Africa managed to fly into the country a few days ago.

He further argued that the excuse about Covid-19 has no legal basis seeing that both governments in question have put in place Covid-19 measures that have ensured the safe travels of citizens for the past months.

“I am disappointed with this result because it is repeat of events that have been taking place for the past three years when I was appearing before the South African courts for the same case,” said Bushiri.
