The crisis in Mozambique has worsened as children as young as 11 years are being beheaded by militants.

A new report published today is shining a light on the human crisis that has been authored by the NGO Save the Children and it says that children as young as 11 years old are being beheaded by militants in the region.

For the past three and half years there has been a rapidly increasing insurgency in Delgado province.

Thousands of people have been pushed out of their homes as house are being burned and fields taken away from them.

More than 2,500 people have been killed and 700,000 have fled their homes since an Islamist insurgency began in 2017.
