Kenya’s Daily Nation newspaper has confirmed that Tanzanian President John Magufuli has been admitted in Nairobi Hospital.
Magufuli is alleged to be the second East African leader to contract COVID-19.
Burundi’s outgoing Pierre Nkurunziza contracted the disease and succumbed to it in June 2020. His death prompted Burundi to reverse its COVID-19 policy.
Magufuli, 61 was last seen in public on Feb. 24 during a tour of the commercial hub, Dar es Salaam, where he inspected projects and addressed public gatherings.
