Socialite Shadaya Knight Tawona has criticised Musician Winky D’s new songs David And Goliath; Reggae Msambo and Reply.
Posting in a long twitter thread, Shadaya said Winky D is just an average musician who is over hyped by his fan base.
“Minus the politically charged songs which chronicle the plight of the youths, the guy has been average on his dancehall deliveries.
“Since “Dhisapiye” ngoma dzake dze dance dziri average. But hey kudos to him, he has a loyal fanbase that over-hypes everything he releases”, Shadaya wrote.
The socialite added that If Winky D was criticized as much as Jah Prayzah maybe by now he wouldn’t still be a local treasure but international superstar or at least regional star.
“Other than sadza eaters, no one out there really follows the guy’s music, can’t say the same for Jah, man is recognized…”.
He said for someone whose live performances are said to be better than all international acts “he curtain raises for, not even one regional or international award of worthy hatisi kutaura magaba awards but ana MTV chii chiii….”.
