In a shocking development, the Malawian information minister, Gospel Kazako, has refused to say if his government will extradite Bushiri to face trial in South Africa after he fled this week.

Kazako said his country is not aware how Bushiri got into South Africa and denied that Malawian President, Lazarus Chakwera smuggled him out in his jet.

However, an embarssed South African government, through their Minister of Justice, Ronald Lamola, have said they will be invoking the extradition treaty that they have within SADC to bring Bushiri back to South Africa.
