The Star Newspaper reports that Limpopo province is battling a divorce backlog of 11 000 failed marriages.
The Provincial Government and other stakeholders have been forced to come up with a 100 day divorce backlog project to clear the backlog by 14 December 2020.
The Capital, Polokwane has the highest divorce backlog at 4 198.
Law firm, DIY Legal, says there has been a 20% increase in divorce cases since level 4 across South Africa.
Last year, Statistics SA revealed that 4 out of 10 South African marriages end in divorce.
