Mozambique president, Filipe Nyusi, has approached the European Union for assistance with fighting the insurgency in Cabo Del Gado.
The letter comes a week after the EU raised its concerns over the situation in Mozambique, escpecially the human rights abuses against women and children.
The request to the EU by Mozambique comes after SADC and AU have failed to respond to the crisis in Mozambique.
There are now widespread fears that terrorism will spread across the region because of the weak regional and continental response.
