The remand hearing of Movement for Democratic Change Alliance vice chairperson Job Sikhala will continue tomorrow.

Sikhala’ s lawyers said his statements did not constitute an offense thus he should be granted bail.

Sikhala who was arrested on Friday is one of more than a dozen anti-government activists who went into hiding after police issued an alert seeking information leading to their arrest ahead of anti-government protests planned for July 31.

Moreover Sikhala is said to have received death threats from prison officers hence he is afraid of his life.

Sikhala raised concerns of lack of protective equipment in prison hence has given a directive that an investigation into the matter be conducted.
