Zimbabwean musician Tinashe says diving headfirst into the fight for social justice and the Black Lives Matter movement helped her cope with the Covid 19 pandemic and gave her hope for a better future.

Tinashe said that the protest gave her something important to fight for especially during the quarantine when people have no idea how much longer they are going to be indoors most of the time.

She said that it is one thing to talk about the racism issue on social media but it is different and better to actually go to the streets and raise awareness about it.

Tinashe said that she was glad to be part of the protests and she is hopeful that the situation will change and people do not turn a blind eye to things happening in their societies.
