Spotlight Zimbabwe reports that Mnangagwa has discussed proposed resignation dates with military generals. The Army Chiefs want Mnangagwa to resign because of the economic crisis, corruption and mismanagement.
General Chiwenga will then take over and complete Mnangagwa’ s term. A clear direction will be available once the lockdown is completely lifted.
Here are some other key points in the post:
1. Military generals are waiting for Mnangagwa to step down peacefully as they do not want to use force.
2. If Mnangagwa does not honor his word and resign on the proposed dates, a section of the army is happy to remove him by force.
3. Members of the opposition will be included in the transitional government
4. Four retired generals : Martin Chedondo, Douglas Nyikayaramba, Anselem Sanyatwe and Shebba Shumbayaonda will be appointed into government.
5. General Chiwenga intends to endorse Saviour Kasukuwere to succeed him as president in 2023.

Commander of the Defence Forces Valerios Sibanda made a political statement that some leaders have gone wayward and started amassing wealth.
This could was surprising and uncalled for and could be the foundation for the next possible of course of action.
Options Available in the army
The military is unlikely to repeat the same method they used in November 2017. However, they have two option available:
– An assassination of ED Mnangagwa
– Allowing Mass Action without interfering
The risk of allowing mass action is that the military will lose control and will not know what happens after Mnangagwa is removed.
