Zanu PF Politburo member Christopher Mutsvangwa and MDC Vice President Tendai Biti almost got into a fight after Biti highlighted that ZANUPF wants everyone to be indebted to the party because it liberated Zimbabwe.
In a panel discussion hosted by Zimpapers Television Network (ZTN) in partnership with the United Nations on Sustainable Development Goals, Mutsvangwa said the liberation struggle is an essential element of Zimbabwe’s history, adding that no country makes progress without embracing their history.
Biti did not dispute the assertion by Mutsvangwa however said the liberation struggle should not be used as a license to the culture of impunity in Zimbabwe, adding that ZANUPF is using the liberation as its own entitlement.
The political differences between the two men sparked a huge debate which almost led into a near fight with Mutsvangwa accusing Biti of being judgemental.
Biti continued to affirm his statement which made Mutsvangwa lose his temper alleging that Biti is a colonial float who wants to smuggle the country back colonial rule.
