Lesotho Prime Minister ‘s Young Wife Now A Fugitive

Other government officials summoned by Police failed to show up

A warrant of apprehension has been issued for the young wife, Maesiah Ramoholi (42),  of Lesotho’s Prime Minister Thomas Thabane (80).

However, Police could not locate the Prime Minister’s young wife when they went to State House to serve her with the warrant of arrest.

The warrant of arrest follows the shooting of the Prime Minister’s late wife, Ms Lipolelo Thabane (58). The Prime Minister had been involved in a protracted divorce battle with Lipolelo at the time of her death.

SAPS investigations indicated that a cellphone related to the Prime Minister and his young wife had interactions with the shooter from the crime scene. Investigators say this evidence directly linked the Prime Minister and his young wife to the murder of Lipolelo.

SABC reports that there has been a negotiation for her to be handed over to the police on Monday. However, she is planning to interdict the warrant of arrest.
