The Zanu Pf government has ordered the State to investigate circumstances which led to the death in prison custody of Hilton Tamangani.

Tamangani was one the the vendors arrested last week and tortured by the Zimbabwe Republic of Police (ZRP).

In a post made by the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR), Harare Magistrate Learnmore Mapiya ordered the Prosecutor to report the state’s findings to court by 5 November, 2019.

The development follows after yesterday’s protest by people demanding justice for Tamangani’s untimely death at the Rotten Raw Court.

ZLHR blamed the Zimbabwe Prison and Correctional Services for his death as they denied him the right to get medical attention from a private doctor.

However, ZLHR secured bail for the 10 vendors, in which the late Tamangani was part of.
