Human Rights Lawyer Doug Coltart has been accused of being the third force behind doctors strike after he allegedly handed over US$19, 300 to the Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors Association (ZHDA).

The development follows after the ZHDA announced that through their affiliate associates, it had set a funding platform for doctors who were denied their salaries by the government.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa, during the Zimbabwe Trade Annual Exporters Conference in Bulawayo claimed that there is a third force influencing doctors strike to sabotage government efforts.

In an article by Newsday, Zanu Pf members accused Coltart of handing the money to the ZHDA spokesperson Masimba Ndoro at Fishmonger, Belgravia to assist doctors who had not received their salaries.

Coltart denied the allegations saying “Zanu Pf is desperate, they are trying to divert the attention from the strike.
