The chronicle has reported that civil servants will receive full bonuses this year. Bonuses will be pegged on gross income.
Following a meeting between the joint negotiation council and government on 14 October it was agreed that bonus payments must include allowances .
The apex council complained that inflation is too high. They feared that prices of basic commodities will skyrocket and wipe out their bonuses .
Last year civil servant mourned when they got paid bonuses which only reflected basic salaries without allowances.
The government did not announce dates for the payment of bonuses.
The minister of public service , labour and social welfare Lovemore Matuke praised his boss ED Mnangagwa for understanding the plight of civil servants. This comes at a time when some civil servants like doctors have served the government of ED Mnangagwa with letters of incapacitation .
