Chief Mupungu (Happyson Nxumalo) allegedly sold an Isuzu Double Cab with a market price of US$50 000 for US$4 000, less than two years after receiving it from President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The law states that recipients of such vehicles are only allowed to sell them after 5 years.

Chief Mupungu is one of the 90 traditional leaders who received the vehicles in August, 2018.

The development has been confirmed by Manicaland Provincial Administrator, Edgars Seenza who said Mupungu sold the vehicle to Dzidzai Butau.

In an affidavit, Chief Mupungu admitted committing the offense and
government has since repossessed the vehicle.
