The Mozambique elections kicked off today with the two main political parties FRELIMO and RENAMO contesting.
Mozambique and FRELIMO President, Filipe Nyusi (60) cast his ballot at Jozina Machel School in central Maputo.
The population of Mozambique is 30 Million and 13 Million are registered to vote.
There are 4000 Election Observers around Mozambique although fears have been raised of irregularities.
There are four Presidential Candidates contesting in the Mozambique elections:
Filipe Jacito Nyusi , 60, FRELIMO – First non war veteran President of Mozambique
Ossufo Momade, 58, RENAMO – Former Rebel who replaced the late Alfonso Dlakama
Daviz Simango, 55, MDM, Former RENAMO leader
Mario Albino, AMUSI, Former MDM
