The wife of a CIO operative who was reportedly killed by the military during the coup in November 2017 has sued Defence Minister Oppah Muchinguri Kashiri. Peter Munetsi’s wife has been in and out of court following the demise of her husband.

The widow of the late CIO has demanded a whooping US$130 000 for the damages inflicted on her due to the death of her husband.

In the court application in which Oppah Muchinguri is the first respondent, the wife of the deceased claimed US$113 046 for her upkeep, US$17581 for their son Peter Munetsi Junior and US$55 000 for other emotional damages.

Mrs Munetsi made headlines when the state withheld the death certificate of her husband who is believed to have died when he was in military detention.
