In the court sessions held on the 8th,10th and 11th of October, the Labour Court of Zimbabwe has ruled that the collective job action displayed by doctors from the 3rd of September 2019 is unlawful. Further to that it has ordered that it should stop with immediate effect.
The Health Services Board had filed a case against the doctors and it appears the Doctors through their representative legal practitioners David Coltart and W Musengi have lost the case.
The doctors are therefore forced to go back to work without proper remuneration because the law did not rule in their favour.
Over the past few weeks to date there are no operations at the hospitals. There is no one to attend to patients. The situation is getting worse everyday.
Doctors have been ordered to return to work within 48hrs. Disciplinary action will be taken against those who fail to comply.
