The quality of education in Zimbabwe has plummeted due to the economic crisis in the country.

Children Learn in a Damaged Classroom in Merengwa

The state of affairs in the country have worsened, especially after the recent Cyclone Idai.

Thousands of Schools were damaged by heavy rains and strong winds that lashed large parts of Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Malawi in early 2019.

Despite efforts from well wishers based overseas such as Freeman Chari, who raised $100 000 and renovated many schools around Zimbabwe, many schools still remain in this terrible state.

The government of Zimbabwe has no capacity to address these issues and parents in communities often have no source of income to pay for the repairs themselves.
