Watch Live As Gambakwe Unpacks The Blocking by Opposition Leader, Nelson Chamisa of close ally and activist, Nqobizitha Mlambo.
Opposition leader, Nelson Chamisa has blocked prominent political activist, Nqobizitha Mlambo, a close ally of his closest friend, Gift Ostallos Siziba.
Nqobizitha Mlambo (@cdemlambo), sarcastically replied “For pluralism …😂” to a recent post by opposition leader Nelson Chamisa (@nelsonchamisa), who had shared his signature slogan “For my God. For my Country. For my People.”
The reply mocked Chamisa’s frequent advocacy for democratic values like pluralism (tolerance of diverse views and political competition) in Zimbabwe’s often authoritarian political landscape, implying irony or hypocrisy—possibly alluding to perceptions that Chamisa (or his team) is quick to block critics and dissenters on social media.
Chamisa promptly blocked the user, triggering X’s standard block message that prevents engagement, following, or messaging, while still allowing viewing of public posts.
This incident highlights a possible conflict that is coming to the surface.
Nqobizitha Mlambo and Gift “Ostallos” Siziba (a prominent Zimbabwean opposition politician and former MP) share a long-standing personal and professional connection rooted in their history as student activists and their current work in Zimbabwean media and politics.
The two co-host a digital political talk show called Tête-à-Tête (sometimes referred to as Shaping Politics). On this platform, they discuss governance, corruption, and economic justice in Zimbabwe.
He is a frequent contributor to regional publications like Daily Maverick and NewsDay, writing on topics such as debt audits, progressive taxation, and resource exploitation.

- Zimbabwe Coalition on Debt and Development (ZIMCODD): Prior to joining FIA, he worked with ZIMCODD, where he championed social and economic justice and mentored over 400 young activists across Zimbabwe’s higher learning institutions.

- University of Zimbabwe: He began his activism journey here in 2012, serving in the Students’ Union and the International Socialist Organisation.
