Opposition figures, Tendai Biti and Jameson Timba, who are opposed to the 2030 Agenda, have confirmed that they are not working together. The two leaders are failing to agree who is the leader of the group, with both naming themselves as convenor of their own faction. Timba runs the Defend the Constitution Platform while Tendai Biti runs the Constitution Defence Forum (CDF). Timba has reportedly asked Biti to come and join DCP as his group is bigger. On his side is Ngarivhume, Gwisai and Ngarivhume. On his own side, Biti has approached Madhuku and Chamisa.

1. the V&A Waterfront is currently undergoing a massive R20 billion expansion. This mega-project, centered on the Granger Bay precinct, is being rolled out in phases over the next 15 years and includes both land-based construction and sea reclamation. The remainder of this R200 million redevelopment, which triples the size of the luxury retail precinct, is due to open by April 2026. Plans are moving forward to reclaim roughly 3.2 hectares of land from the sea to create new space for hotels, residences, and offices. Construction of a 540-metre seawall and two breakwaters is expected to begin around 2027. Future phases will introduce new tidal pools, a landscaped coastal promenade, and a public swimming pool. Total additional development rights of approximately 440,000m² have been approved for future growth.

1. Gugulethu residents digging for gold. A woman claims to have dug up a lot of gold. The government says the gold belongs to the state. Hundreds of people have descended on the area, turning parts of the township into a chaotic digging site after alleged gold deposits were discovered near a cattle kraal. Zama Zamas are charging R100 for sifting and the kraal managers are charging R70. Nosiphelele Mgijimi, who has over 300 cattle in the kraal, says they have been operating on the kraal since 2018.
