Dendera star Sulumani Chimbetu was arrested and later released this week, just as unconfirmed rumours exploded on social media claiming he allegedly made advances toward former First Lady Dr. Amai Grace Mugabe.
The circumstances surrounding his arrest remain unclear, and authorities have not released an official statement. However, sources close to the matter say the musician was briefly detained and released as charges were dropped by Grace Mugabe.
Some fans jokingly suggested that the singer should have been more direct “Sulu should have just told Amai he needs help,” one post read.
Sulumani, the son of late Dendera legend Simon Chimbetu, has yet to publicly comment on either the arrest or the swirling rumours.
