Former First Lady Grace Mugabe is reportedly living in fear following a series of violent and targeted attacks on the Mugabe family farm in Mazowe.
Sources close to the family say unidentified groups recently invaded the property, wreaking havoc: slaughtering livestock, uprooting trees, and forcing farm workers to flee. The attacks have left the once-protected estate in disarray, and have raised serious concerns about political intimidation.
Family members, including her sons Robert Jr. and Bellarmine Chatunga, have condemned the attacks, calling them a coordinated form of persecution.
The Mugabe family, once at the helm of Zimbabwe’s political elite, has seen its fortunes change drastically following the ouster of the late President Robert Mugabe in 2017. Grace Mugabe, who was once seen as a powerful political player, has largely remained out of the public eye since her husband’s death.
The family believes these attacks are politically motivated, possibly linked to long-standing land disputes and unresolved succession tensions within the ruling party.
No official statement has yet been issued by authorities, and it remains unclear who is behind the farm invasions.
